Cristo Redentor



Considered the central attraction of Rio de Janeiro, the Christ the Redeemer is the largest art deco work in the world at 38 meters high and weighing 1,200 tons. With arms outstretched, the image of Christ seems to be protecting the city that never sleeps.


This impressive statue is located on top of Cerro del Corcovado, 710 meters above sea level.

It represents the faith and sympathy of the people of Rio de Janeiro, which is why this colossus promises to be, with more than 80 years of history, one of the main tourist attractions during the development of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games. creating a gigantic image of Christ, as a meeting point for pilgrimages and religious celebrations, dates from the end of the 19th century.

Finally, on October 12, 1931 the Christ the Redeemer monument was inaugurated, which years later was consecrated as a symbol of Brazilian tourism and is currently one of the New 7 Wonders of the Modern World level.


The ascent to Monte de Corcovado is a real ecological walk that is done by an electric train, which crosses the Tijuca National Park and allows you to get the best views of the most beautiful landscapes of the city and at the same time helps to conserve the jungle, since that part of the box office proceeds is destined to the Brazilian Institute of the Environment (Ibama) for the preservation of vegetation.
